Sofía Castro

Sofía Castro is a prominent Mexican actress born into a family with a strong tradition in the world of entertainment; she is the daughter of actress Angélica Rivera and producer José Alberto Castro, the niece of Verónica Castro, and cousin of Cristian Castro.

Her acting career began at an early age. She made her television debut in the series “Skimo” in 2007 and later appeared in programs such as “La hora pico,” “La rosa de Guadalupe,” and “Como dice el dicho.”

Her first role in telenovelas was in “Teresa” in 2010. Since then, she has participated in various productions like “Esperanza del corazón,” “Cachito de cielo,” “Por siempre mi amor,” “El hotel de los secretos,” “Vino el amor,” “Por amar sin ley,” and more recently in “El Dragón: el regreso de un guerrero” and “Malverde: el santo patrón.”

Sofía has received several accolades throughout her career. She was nominated at the TVyNovelas Awards as “Best Female Revelation” for her role in “Cachito de cielo” and at the People en Español awards as “Best New Talent” for the same telenovela. Moreover, she won the “Best Young Actress” award at the Que… México awards for her performance in “Por siempre mi amor” and the “Best Female Revelation” award from the Association of Critics and Theater Journalists for her work in the play “El cartero.”

Sofía Castro has proven to be a versatile and committed actress, with a constantly rising career and recognition within the entertainment industry.

She has portrayed characters in both Mexican and international productions, like the American feature film “Monster Party”,  demonstrating her versatility as an actress. She has been part of important casts and has shared credits with other recognized figures in the industry.
